In recent years, as the focus of oil and gas exploration and development has shifted to the deep sea, deep and ultra-deep, 

the development difficulty has been increasing, and higher requirements have been put forward for oil and gas equipment. 

Accelerate the integrated application of digital intelligent technology in the field of oil and gas equipment, 

and provide a new scheme for oil and gas equipment to meet the complex surface exploration, exploitation and other work. 

At the same time, based on the "dual carbon" goal and the requirements of energy transformation, 

the green transformation of oil and gas equipment has also become an important direction of development. 

The "2023 China Oil and Gas Equipment Development Index Research Report" shows that the current development of oil and 

gas equipment industry presents four major trends.


First, the application scenario drives the evolution of oil and gas equipment to deep-sea special Wells. 

With the deepening of oil and gas exploitation, conventional land oil and gas resources and medium and 

shallow water oil and gas resources are increasingly scarce, and oil and gas exploitation is accelerating to deepwater, 

deep-sea, plateau, mountain, swamp and other scenarios. According to GLOBAL DATA, more than 60% of global offshore oil and 

gas investment from 2018 to 2025 is distributed in deep water and ultra-deep water areas, 

and 75% of the world's top 50 super-large oil and gas development projects are deep-sea projects, 

and more than 70% of the water depths are more than 1,000 meters. The change of application scenarios will inevitably make 

the working environment of oil and gas equipment more stringent, such as increasingly complex and harsh platform use 

environment, high temperature and high pressure complex formation development, etc., the new characteristics of oil and 

gas equipment represented by offshore drilling equipment are accelerating the formation, and the deep-sea special well 

application of oil and gas equipment is accelerating the evolution.


Second, economic benefits drive the standardized navigation of conventional oil and gas equipment. China's oil and 

gas equipment after long-term development, from the initial from nothing to the current full market competition, 

the development of conventional oil and gas equipment has been relatively mature, forming a series of conventional 

oil and gas products layout, but also facing complex market demand, product customization and many other new challenges.

With the increasing attention of enterprises to product quality and technical level, the standardization and standardization 

level of oil and gas equipment products continue to improve, which greatly promotes the large-scale production of oil and 

gas equipment. In the future, in conventional oil and gas equipment products, the standardization process of products and 

related technologies will be further accelerated, and standardization will become the key to enhance the competitiveness of oil 

and gas equipment enterprises.


Third, ecological concepts promote the transformation of oil and gas equipment to green. 

Countries around the world have issued relevant environmental protection policies on the development and 

utilization of Marine resources, gradually strengthening restrictions on the emission of drilling fluids, toxic and harmful gases, 

and increasingly stringent environmental protection indicators such as energy consumption, vibration noise, and solid waste 

emissions in conventional oil and gas exploitation. China has also successively issued policy documents in the field of energy 

and equipment manufacturing to guide the green development of the industry. In the future, the green pace of oil and gas 

equipment will be further accelerated, and the zero emission complete sets of offshore drilling equipment, solid waste 

treatment devices, and seawater treatment systems will become the focus of attention, while the requirements of lightweight,

low noise, and energy saving of traditional conventional oil and gas equipment will be further improved.


Fourth, digital technology helps oil and gas equipment to upgrade intelligentized. Affected by the increasingly complex 

mining environment, intelligent or unmanned oil and gas equipment will become an inevitable trend. Specifically, intelligent 

drilling will be gradually promoted and applied on a large scale, and the sensing technology will gradually mature, so as to 

meet the downhole parameter detection and signal transmission of high temperature and high pressure, and provide a basis 

for supporting technologies such as decision-making system research and field tests. Remote driller technology will be 

gradually applied. In the future, with the further improvement of the mechanization degree of the drill floor and the reliability 

of the system, the use of remote driller technology to reduce the safety risk of the driller room personnel in dangerous areas 

will be further applied. Online fault detection and diagnosis will achieve substantial applications, with the in-depth application 

of sensor technology in drilling RIGS and other systems, detection data acquisition will be more timely, relevant data can be 

found in advance of equipment failures, eliminate hidden dangers, but also for equipment optimization and upgrading to 

accumulate raw data.
